Why I'm starting this blog

I have asked myself this question repeatedly on why I would want to spend my precious available time slogging in front of a computer right after spending my whole day in front of a computer at work just to write a few words that might actually not be read by anyone at all... Took quite awhile to convince myself really but this is why.

I'm passionate about food. A lot of people are but I'm more specificially passionate about street food. We as Asians love to eat and we eat often. All this translates to a huge demand for tasty food anywhere, anytime. In fact, I believe street food is the pulse of the culinary world in Asia. Any food that has moved to a swanky restaurant has sold its soul and have forgotten its roots. I sincerely believe that the best foods are sold at food carts on the streets on Asia. I use the word "street foods" lightly meaning foods that are sold by vendors who are themselves, the actual cooks. Many has moved away from the streets for comfort and hygiene but they are still doing all the cooking themsleves, maintaining high standards so that their own personal reputation are not tarnished.

So, I hope to be able to bring you a new food adventure every week. I live in Bangkok so food adventures are easy to come by. It might be just a stroll down my neighbourhood street for some duck noodles or a cross-country trek to find the best Gaeng Som. But hopefully rain or shine, you'll find me with a new adventure here every week.
